four-hour festival
/
A four-hour festival sounds just about right as we enter the second half of summer. Time to enjoy the experience with enough time left for a dinner-ruining ice cream. The folk art movement in Nova Scotia which takes its inspiration from its surrounding community and geography is robustly represented at the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival. On Sunday August 5 most of the artists will be in attendance showing their paintings, hooked rugs, carvings, and small pieces of furniture. UPPERCASE friend Rose Zgodzinski is planning a return trip after an enjoyable experience last summer. Rose also recommends the ongoing Folk Art exhibit at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax only an hour’s drive from the festival.
