Dreams Designed by Dali
/
The Nightmares theme owes a cultural debt to Salvador Dali, Surrealism and its exploration of the 'omnipotence of dream.' Indeed, alongside Sigmund Freud, Dali is widely recognized as the undisputed Master of Dreams - not to mention melting watches.
Dali made several of his own strange and twisted surrealist films but in 1945 he was called upon by the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, to design the dream sequences for the psychological thriller, "Spellbound." In the clip above we get to see Gregory Peck lost in a sea of eyeballs. Dreamy!
