stampede collection

My husband and I have had many roles at the Stampede—from a member of a marching band to a shareholder with voting rights. We've amassed quite a collection of volunteer pins, the capstone of which is a 1971 Stampede Pin found in a flea market. For me the Stampede isn't so much about time at the grounds (although I've done my fair share of two-steppin' in the beer tents) but about the community spirit it awakens. The cowboy myth may not fit for the modern Calgarian, but the abundant community events are a chance to connect with neighbours.
